FueledByMOTM: How I Train For Triathlon + 3 Easy Strategies To Get Your Workouts Done

Getting to the gym, a spin class or outdoors for your long run can be a challenge with a busy work, family and social schedule. As a triathlete, I know this well.  FueledByMOTM is a new Marni on The Move weekly segment offering tips, advice, and answers to listener questions.  On this premiere episode, I share my strategies for fitting my workouts into my busy schedule, stay motivated during training, and set goals to achieve success.  Many of you have been asking me how I find the time to train for triathlon and how I stay inspired in my training and workout routine. This isn’t a new question, as my friends and family have asked me for decades!  While this segment is focused on triathlon, these tips and advice apply to any sports or fitness routine. Before I trained for triathlon, I was a runner, yoga practitioner, and fitness class junkie. The only way I ever got to the gym or studio is by approaching training the same way I approach running my business. Whether I am spearheading initiatives within my own company, The Salup Group, building a brand strategy, communications and content campaign for a client, or producing events and FIT+LOVE’s annual fitness festival, I set achievable goals, build a team, map out a plan of action, build it into my schedule and get it done.

FueledByMOTM is my new weekly podcast segment and Marni on the Move series offering easy-to-follow, actionable, tips, advice and answers to listener questions on topics we cover in depth on Marni on the Move from career, fitness, beauty, sports, wellness and more.  Either myself or one of my 60 plus podcast guests will be sharing, commenting and answering listener questions in each 20 minute or less epiode. Fifi Simon, Simon Showroom CEO + Founder: On Entrepreneurship, Fashion, and Fitness

By the time she was a teenager, Fifi Simon was already working in fashion, dabbling as a model here and there. As the daughter of a tailor, she grew up surrounded by it.  Ever since she can remember, Fifi Simon has loved fashion.  Anyone that knows her would agree! So when she arrived in NYC after college, in 1992, it was no surprise that she landed her first job as a fit model at Pierre Balman Denim. She later went on to launch two of the biggest denim brands in the history of fashion.

What happened next in her career set the tone for what today is the industry insider, Simon Showroom. The entrepreneurial venture Fifi embarked upon back in 1998 is now one of the fashion industry’s most sought after showrooms by contemporary designers and retailers from around the globe. Headquartered in NYC, with locations in Los Angeles and Atlanta, Simon Showroom works with designers to cultivate and build their brands through sales, market intelligence, positioning and merchandising.

Renowned for bringing super-cool, hip, contemporary designers to market, Simon Showroom has launched brands in athleisure, denim, and contemporary sportswear with young designers including AMO, Antik Batik, Citizen’s of Humanity,  LNDR, IRO, Petite Bateau, Paul + Joe, Seven for All Mankind, Sundry and more.

Marni syncs up with Fifi about where her love of fashion began, her career trajectory, some of the great designers she has cultivated over the years, up and coming fashion brands, and of course her love of fitness.
