342: TYR’s Director of Functional Fitness, Corey Berger, Dials Us Into The Heritage Brands Evolution From Swim to CrossFit & Running

Today on The Podcast I am syncing up with Corey Berger, Director of Functional Fitness at TYR , the family owned heritage brand that got its roots in swim 40 years ago, in Huntington Beach California. Founded by by Joseph DiLorenzo, and Olympic Bronze Medalist Swimmer, Steve Furniss in 1985,  TYR, the name a reference to the Norse god Týr, has grown and evolved over the decades into multiple athletic categories. During the pandemic TYR expanded into crossfit footwear and as of this month, has two phenomenal new running shoes- The Valkyrie Carbon and Valkyroe Speedworks. I have been wearing their swimsuits and goggles for over a decade and was excited to connect with Corey and learn all about their crossfit, strength training, and new running shoes. We chat about his role TYR, how and when he connected with the brand, his personal athletic endeavors, and where the two intersect.
