Tianna Bartoletta is a 2x Olympian and 3x Olympic gold medalist, and a track and field athlete specializing in the long jump and the 100-meter sprint. Tianna is also a 3x IAAF World Champion, and 4 x 100 Meter Relay World Record Holder, and she just earned her place, with a phenomenal time of 10:96, in the 2021 US Olympic Trials. In addition to her incredible athletic career, Tianna is also a certified yoga instructor, teacher, and practitioner. She is an avid writer and her memoir, Survive and Advance, is out today, June 8, 2021.
On this episode, Tianna and I sync up about when and where she discovered her love of yoga, how she looks to yoga philosophy and asana practice and uses what she has learned here to be mentally and physically stronger both on and off the track. We talk about what it means to find the “why” both in life and sport. She also tells me about using the lessons she’s learned from overcoming life and career challenges to inspire and empower younger athletes.
