Des Linden is an Olympic marathoner and winner of the 2018 Boston Marathon. When she added ultra-running to her repertoire, she broke the women’s world record in the 50k with a time of 2:59:54. With the 2022 Boston Marathon around the corner and her newest title, Brooks Running, Chief Running Advisor, we are re-posting our awesome convo from May 2021
On this episode of Marni on the Move, Des and I sync up about her training, motivation, and incredible career. She chats with me about her inspiration for running a 50k, and how COVID led her to pivot her training toward longer distances. As two coffee lovers, we also talk about Des’ coffee company, Linden X Two, and her rituals around creating the perfect brew.
Des also gives me some insight into where she hopes to take her career in the future, and what she’s most looking forward to about taking the starting line again at this year’s Boston Marathon in October. Des ends our conversation by giving me some great book recommendations.
Get ready to be inspired, motivated, and craving a good cup of coffee and a run.
