383. From Marathons to Ironman: Sara Whittingham’s Inspiring Journey Battling Parkinson’s and Competing in the 2024 U.S Paralympic Marathon Trials

Sara Whittingham a life long athlete, Air Force veteran, mom, Anesthesiologist, who is fighting Parkinsons Disease.  She competed in the U.S. Paralympic Marathon Trials this year, just finished B.A.A Boston Half as part of the coordination impaired division, and is planning to race Ironman 70.3 Rockford in June. Sara has competed countless marathons, Ironman 70.3 and Ironman before and after Parkinsons Disease surfaced in her life.  We talk about how she perserveres, continues to compete, educates and empowers others. Sara sheds light on the early warning signs, how she mentally moved forwad with racing and training and what’s next on her racing agenda.
